2Peter 1:5-9
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness;
and to goodness, knowledge;
and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverence;
and to perseverence, godliness;
and to godliness, brotherly/sisterly kindness;
and to brother/sisterly kindness, love.
For when you possess these qualities in INCREASING MEASURE, they will keep you from being INEFFECTIVE and UNPRODUCTIVE in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.... Vs10 if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom...
The above verses explain clearly following:
1) with faith; you can differentiate good from bad, only choosing what is good and fleeing from what is bad (can you?);
2) with goodness; you learn it in your mind with full understanding and without doubt;
3) with knowledge; you act by keeping yourself controlled esp in areas you know you are vulnerable. Eg resist fantasy/love books if you tend to imagine uncontrollably in your mind. Remember you can be in control;
4) with self-control; you press in by persevering through the fights. No fight is just momentary. Devil constantly comes to steal, kill and destroy. But if you don’t stay alert to keep fight, devil will find chances to bring you down again. Fight till there's complete breakthrough, remember dont be contented with just momentary breakthroughs...4) with perseverence; you now build up strong attitude and positive outlook with deeper conviction. When you have knowledge and self-control, then you begin to see your fruits of godliness in your character;
5) with godliness; naturally it churns out of a good heart to be kind and compassionate to everyone. Kindness is act of giving...not just receiving, a beautiful gift indeed;
6) with kindness; then comes love. LOVE with is the greatest seed that should grow in your heart.
Today, look into your life, are you simply loving others more? Give more than you receive? Or do you just want to receive and receive?
I realise tat i have been giving lesser n lesser.. After e past relationship i dun dare to give but i just receive from ppl.. i need to ask god to heal mi in tis so tat i can give more..
